Nice site. I specifically came to it to look for info on the Panther Mountain (presumed) impact structure.
Keep up the good work. -- Paul |

Hi - I'm chair of the Ottawa Branch of the Canadian Remote Sensing Society. We noted that there is a total lunar eclipse on the 20/21 December. We are planning a meeting for Dec 20, and we were wondering if there was any plan for observing and/or viewing resources we could let our members know about? While we generally look at regions on the earth from space, this would give us a fun reason to look up to space from earth for a change.
Thanks for your help - Peter White |

Hello, I'm interested in finding accurate star maps of the Ottawa area, and don't know where to start. Any suggestions?
Thank you, Alisdair |

Made an appearance at the January 2010 meeting for the first two talks with my daughter. WOW! What I saw regarding the talk on satelites was..... stellar.
Keep up the great work RASCals, and I hope to get re-aquainted in the coming months. Best regards, Dave Lauzon |

Hello,
I'm wondering if anyone else saw a large flaming object with a significant tail, falling from S to N about 9 pm on Monday November 16, 2009. I was driving through McDonald's Corners in Lanark County at the time. It crossed our path overhead, and my passenger said, "did you see that falling star?" It seemed to fall somewhere to the north, perhaps Lavant, or maybe even farther north, in the Madawaskas? I at first assumed someone had thrown a firecracker, but you could see a very definite black ball about 8 or 10 degrees wide with flames around it, with a long triangular yellow tail. The most impressive night sky object I've seen in my 60 years. |
