New pictures taken by the Mars Global Surveyor's camera
show landforms most likely created by liquid water moving beneath the surface
of Mars. The features in these photos show that water has seeped onto the
surface in the recent past and caused landslides. These landforms are called
gullies. This is exiting news for space science because water is considered
to be the most important element for life, as we know it.
This brings up the age-old question "Is there life on Mars?" |
