| NEAR (Near Earth Asteroid Rendezvous) is the first spacecraft toorbit and study an asteroid. Eros is the biggest asteroid near Earth (258 million kilometers away). |  |
The asteroid is 33kms. long and 13kms wide and 13 kms thick. Some people think it looks like a ballet shoe dancing in space. |
