Planets - Where are they?

Remember Venus as an evening "star" in the spring, shining bright in the west aster sunset? Well now it is on the other side of the Sun and you can see it again as a morning "star" in the east before the Sun comes up.
Mars is that reddish "star" low in the southwest in the evening. Notice another reddish star to the left of Mars. This is Antares in the constellation of Scorpius the scorpion. The name Antares means "Mars' rival" because it looks so much like Mars.

Watch Mars move closer to Antares during this month. Notice the colour and twinkling and remember that stars twinkle, planets don't.
