Autumnal Equinox (September 23rd):

The equinoxes (fall & spring) are the two opposite points on the Earth's orbit around the Sun and the only two days of the year at which the northern half and the southern half of the Earth are bathed in equal amounts of sunlight. As the Earth moves around theSun, the angle of the sunlight changes on the Earth. We will get less and less light and the Sun will appear lower in the sky until the beginning of winter when we will begin tio get more and more light again.
