Bright Planets:
Mars and Venus are the "stars" of this month's sky show. Venus,
the brightest one of all the planets, shines high in the west after sunset,
and bright red Mars shines in the southeast.
As you look at them, keep in mind that Venus is about the same size
as the Earth and one planet closer to the Sun than we are. Mars is half
the size of Earth and one planet further away from the Sun than we are.
Therefore, Earth is right in between Venus and Mars.
